It´s time to pick up all those leftover fabric pieces that we call scraps! Today we once again celebrate SCRAP HAPPY DAY!! We always do that every month on the 15th. My friend Kate from Australia and I decided this a long time ago. I can´t actually remember when we started 🙂 If you uses scraps when sewing and want to show us your project, you can contact me or Kate and we will add your name and link on the list down below!
I like piecing my scraps together using ”the pattern” Scrap Vortex. The idea comes from Amanda Jean Nyberg, blog Crazy Mom Quilts. This is gonna be my third Scrap Vortex quilt. I´m using scraps from a very special project I´ve been part of, called F2F2 and that you can read more about HERE!
I have some larger pieces saved, that I might use. The quilt isn´t gonna be that big and I´m not sure I´m even are making a quilt. Maybe I´ll sew a table runner instead or a cushion or a table mat. I don´t know, we´ll see 🙂

Scrap vortex, excellent idea. I might try it. What fabric do you use for your design wall
GillaGilla
Scrap Vortex is a great pattern for scraps! My designwall is made of styrofoam and cottonfabric (IKEA).

I took my inspiration from your scrap vortex for my latest scrap block, as well as a bunch of end strips from the Sea Glass quilt top! Do you realise we’ve been doing ScrapHappy since July 2015? That’s a LOT of scraps we’ve used up 🙂
GillaGilla
Since July 2015??? !!! I didn´t remember that. Then why do I still have bags filled with scraps? 🙂
GillaGilla
Because you keep making things and generating more scraps…? I’ve decided I have to keep making things WITH scraps to try and deal with the problem 🙂

Oh, I like that pattern! This is a reminder to me to get busy working on mine again! What a great idea to use our F2F scraps!
