Månaden maj är rosa! I alla fall om bloggen Soscrappy får bestämma 🙂 Jag fortsätter följa Mari på bloggen The Academic Quilter och hennes mönster.

The month of May is pink! At least the blog Soscrappy sais so 🙂 I continue to follow Mari at the blog The Academic Quilter and the blocks she designs.

Apropå rosa……..jag har börjat sy en ryggsäck ( design ByAnnie) och mitt foder är rosa! Än så länge har jag bara quiltat vissa delar och skurit till alla delar 🙂

Talking about pink……..I´ve started to sew a backpack (design ByAnnie) and my lining is pink. So far I have only quilted some of the parts and cut out all parts 🙂

Scrap Happy Day, July 15th

På bloggen Soscrappy syr vi i blått denna månad (RSC 2017). Jag använder mina 1.5″ rutor som jag skurit till av scraps.

At the blog Soscrappy we are sewing in blue this month (RSC 2017). I´m using my 1.5″ squares cut from scraps.

På bloggen My Tea and Brie syr vi på quilten Trip Around the World (design Bonnie K. Hunter). Vi syr under temat Summer Trip Around the World 2017. Jag har valt att  använda mina 2.5″ rutor (från scraps), men man kan också sy med remsor som man sedan skär isär. #summertriparoundtheworld2017

At the blog My Tea and Brie we are sewing the quilt Trip Around the World (design Bonnie K. Hunter). Our quilt is called Summer Trip Around the World 2017. I sew my quilt using 2.5″ squares, cut from scraps, but you can also use strings when sewing. #summertriparoundtheworld2017

Apropå Bonnie K. Hunter, så har hon en Leaders and Enders utmaning varje år, med start nu i juli. Årets tema är Rail Fence med en extra touch. Jag gillar idén med Leaders and Enders, dvs, när du syr något börjar och slutar du med rutor till ytterligare ett projekt. På så vis syr du två täcken på en och samma gång 🙂 Jag håller just nu på med ”den extra touchen”. Läs mer på Bonnies blog!

Talking about Bonnie K. Hunter, she introduce a Leaders and Enders challenge every year starting in July. This year the theme is Rail Fence with an extra touch. I like the idea with sewing Leaders and Enders. When sewing one quilt, you start and end the chain with pieces from another quilt. In that way you sew two quilts at the same time 🙂 Right now I´m working on ”the extra touch”. You can read more abut it on Bonnies´ blog!

Ny inspiration / New Inspiration

Åtminstone känns det så 🙂 Jag har sytt klart junirutan till RSC2017. Använder mig ju av alla 1.5″ rutor, som blev över när jag hade sytt mitt frimärkstäcke. Tror inte jag visat rutan för maj än. Den var grön och juni är gul. Rutorna har olika storlekar, beroende på hur många smårutor det finns! Verkar som om jag sytt mycket med grönt den senaste tiden!

At least it feels like that 🙂 I have finished the block for June, RSC2017. I´m trying to use up all the leftovers (1.5″ squares) from my Postage Stamp quilt. I don´t think I have yet shown you the block from May. It´s green and June is yellow. The blocks are different sizes, depending on how many small squares there are. Looks like I´ve been sewing a lot using green fabrics lately!

Jag håller dessutom på att tömma min låda med stadkanter. Syr i storlek 6.5″ x 6.5″ och försöker hålla mig till en färgskala på varje ruta. Har redan sytt klart 6 rutor och börjat på tre nya!

I´m also trying to empty my box with selvages. I sew blocks, size 6.5″ x 6.5″ and I´m trying to use the same color on each block. I have already sewn 6 blocks and started on three new ones!

Blandade / Mixed

Tänkte visa lite annat än quiltar denna gång! Det finns lite annat i mitt liv förutom tyg och tråd, även om det är svårt att tro det 🙂

Thought I´d show you something else than quilts this time. There are other things going on in my life than fabrics and threads, even if it´s hard to believe that 🙂

Här är platsen för min dator. Jag sitter inte där alltför ofta, tyvärr. Bordet har min svärfar gjort. Jag har aldrig träffat honom.

Here is where I have my PC. I don´t work there very often, I´m sorry to say. The table is made by my father in law, whom I have never met.

Den här tavlan har min KM målat. Jag gillar den!

This painting is done by my DH. I really like it!

Kuddarna i soffan har jag sytt. Jag tyckte tyget var jättehärligt, så jag är nöjd med dem!

I have sewn the cushions in the sofa. I thought the fabric was great and I´m very pleased with them!

Katter! Vi har två stycken och detta är fröken Dennis. Jag såg fel, när hon var nyfödd. Trodde hon var en kille. Därav namnet. Vi har försökt döpa om henne, men hon fortsätter heta Dennis. I år blir hon 13 år! Den andra katten ville inte vara med på bild!

Cats! We have two cats and this is miss Dennis. I made a mistake when she was born and thought she was a he. That´s why she´s called Dennis. We tried other names, but she keeps on being called Dennis. This year she´ll be 13 years old! The other cat didn´t want to appear on a photo!

Blommor. Ja, jag tycker om blommor och jag försöker få dem att överleva. Just nu blommar min Amaryllis. Den blomman har jag haft i 15 år nu och jag blir lika glad var gång den blommar! I köket står mina tomatplantor och längtar efter sol och värme! Vem gör inte det 🙂

Flowers. Yes, I like flowers and I´m working hard so they´ll survive. At this moment my Amaryllis is blooming. I have had that flower for 15 years now and I´m so pleased every time it´s blooming! In my kitchen I have tomato seedlings, waiting for the sun and some warmth. Who doesn´t 🙂

Måste till slut ändå visa ett av mina projekt. RSC 2017/april handlar om mångfärgade scraps och det har man ju. Jag syr ihop mina 1.5″ scraps i alla sorters färger! Finally I have to show you one of my projects. RSC 2017/April is all about the scraps with many colors, which I have a lot of. Min lilla stad! / My Small Town!

Min lilla stad har växt klart!! Inför oktober månad återstod fem hus att bygga. Tre gula och två svarta. På bloggen Soscrappy väljs varje månad en färg plus några extra färger i samma färgskala. I oktober fanns lyckligtvis gult med, så det var bara att börja sy. När jag väl hade sytt klart mina gula hus, kändes det helt okej att fortsätta med de svarta. Därför är nu hela staden uppbyggd! Dock känns det som om den har råkat ut för en mindre jordbävning, för vissa hus är lite sneda och vissa tak har satt sig 🙂 Ska försöka fixa det när jag quiltar staden.

My small town has grown to its end!! Before October there were five houses left to build. Three yellow and two black. At the blog Soscrapppy every month has its special color plus some extra colors in the same value. October month had yellow, so it was just for me to start sewing. Once I´ve finished my yellow houses, it felt totally okey to continue with the black houses. Now the whole town is finished! In some way, it looks like the town has had a minor earthquake, cause some houses are a bit sloping and some roofs have subsided 🙂 I´ll try to fix this during the quilting of the town.

Röda hus / Red Houses

Förra månaden stod allt stilla i min stad. Byggjobbarna hade semester, fönstertillverkarna strejkade, takbyggarna tyckte det var för varmt osv! Den här månaden har vi ryckt upp oss och börjat bygga igen. Vi (jag) har sytt röda hus.

Last month everything stood still in my town. The construction builders were on vacation, The window makers were on strike, the roof builders thought it was to hot and so on! This month we are back on line and have start building again. We (I) have sewn red houses.

Små blå hus / Tiny Blue Houses

Jag följer bloggen Soscrappy och hennes Rainbow Scrap Challenge för fjärde året i rad! I år ska jag sy en stad, som jag har ritat.

I follow the blog Soscrappy and her Rainbow Scrap Challenge for the fourth year in a row! This year I´m gonna sew a city, a pattern I drew myself.

Januarifärgen är blå, så jag börjar med de blå husen. Jag har inte sytt dem helt klara. Till taket hör en HST, så den får jag vänta med att sy tills det kommer rätt månadsfärg 🙂 Dessutom måste jag kanske tänka på att dela upp husen i rutor, så det blir enklare att sy ihop alla till slut!

The color of January is blue, so I started with the blue houses. They aren´t quite finished yet. The roof ends with a HST, so I´ll have to wait till that color comes up 🙂 Besides that, I guess I have to divide the patern into squares, to make it easier to sew the pieces together in the end!

Jakobs stege, den bruna versionen / Jacob´s Ladder, The Brown Version

Ja, alltså, brunt är inte riktigt min färg. Har aldrig varit och kommer aldrig att bli. Därför tycker jag inte om dessa rutor. Fast när bloggen Soscrappy bestämmer att brunt är färgen för oktober, så är det bara att anta utmaningen och sy 🙂

So brown isn´t my colour. Has never been and will never be. That´s why I don´t like these blocks. Though when the blog Soscrappy decides that brown is the colour for October, you just face the challenge and sew 🙂

Rainbow Scraps Challenge 2014

 

Har för andra året i rad följt bloggen ”Soscrappy” och utmaningen Rainbow Scraps. Dvs, varje månad får man en färg att sy och då ska man använda sina scraps 🙂 Förra året sydde jag trianglar. Dessa har jag nu sytt ihop och de är klara för quiltning!

For the second year I´ve followed the challenge at the blog ”Soscrappy”, the Rainbow Scraps Challenge. Every month you get a colour in which you`ll sew something with your scraps 🙂 Last year I sew triangles. Now I´ve sewn them together and they are ready to be quilted!

I år bestämde jag mig för att sy Majaväskor ( Majas Paradis). Gick bra ända t o m juli och sedan tröttnade jag………

This year I decided to sew Majabags (from the blog Majas Paradis) It all went well till the month July and then I got tired of sewing them…….

I oktober bestämde jag mig för att ge väskorna en ny chans. Jag började sy ihop scraps som Leaders and Enders och till slut hade jag augustis röda väska klar 🙂

In October I decided to give the bags a new chance. I started sewing the scraps as Leaders and Enders and finally I had the red bag of August done 🙂

Gjorde samma sak för september och några orange scraps blev månadens Majaväska.

Did the same thing for September and some orange scraps became the Majabag of that month.

I oktober skulle vi använda både bruna och svarta scraps. Istället för Majaväskor, valde jag att sy muggmattor. Ibland måste man vara flexibel 🙂

In october we´d use both brown and black scraps. Instead of Majabags, I choosed to sew mugrugs. Some times you just have to be flexibel 🙂

Bruna trianglar / Brown Triangles

November månad hos bloggen Soscrappy innebär brunt! Hur jag lyckades få ihop scraps till 11 trianglar är mer än jag förstår 🙂 Brunt är inte en populär färg i mitt tygrike. Nu är väl trianglarna inte helt bruna. Lite gult, lite beigt, lite rost och lite andra färger slank med, men de får godkänt av mig i alla fall 🙂

At the blog Soscrappy November is the colour brown! How I managed to sew 11 triangles of scraps is more than I can understand 🙂 Brown isn´t a very populare colour in my kingdom of fabrics. Well, the triangles aren´t all that brown. Some yellow, some beige, some rust and some other colours are there, but it´s alright for me anyhow 🙂
